UPDATE ON THE HMICFRS CULTURE REVIEW RECOMMENDATIONS AND ACTIONS

OPEN INFORMATION ITEM 9

1) Purpose of Report

  1. To inform GPWG Members of the progress made against the HMICFRS report into values and culture in fire and rescue services.

2) Recommendation

  1. That Members note the content of the report and progress made against the recommendations.

3) Information and Analysis

  1. As background information, the Minister of State for Crime, Policing and Fire commissioned HMICFRS to report on values and culture in FRS’s. The report published in March 2023 details 35 timebound recommendations for the fire sector.  20 of these recommendations are for individual FRS’s.
  2. Progress against the action plans is monitored by the Strategic Leadership Team and the Governance and Performance Working Group.  The Service also update HMICFRS.
  3. Attached is a progress report against the recommendations detailed in the HMICFRS report.

  1. None.
