Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service (DFRS) regularly reviews its Service Delivery and Risk Review (SDRR) to identify all of the current, new and emerging risks that exist within the county, to ensure its plans to deliver an emergency service to the communities of Derbyshire remain effective and efficient.
The Service uses a wide range of data, which includes analysis of incidents, prevention and protection activity, and people demographics using Office of National Statistics & Census data, alongside other external datasets to identify new and emerging trends. This information informs the annual action plan which is part of a Community Risk Management Plan that we call 'Our Plan'.

The Service invited people from across Derbyshire to take part in a short survey as part of this review. 83 people took part and we would like to thank them very much for their time and comments. The results of this survey which closed on 9th September 2024 can be accessed here:

At least every 4 years Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service is required to publish new equality objectives, which will be reported on annually in our Public Sector Equality Duty Report.
They are explicitly linked to Our Vision, Service Priorities and Code of Ethics.
Our equality objectives apply to work with our communities, and how we interact with our colleagues. They are designed to eliminate unfair disparities by being transparent about our challenges and increasing accountability for addressing them throughout the organization, which is why we consult.
The results of this consultation were positive, with the majority agreeing with all objectives. One specific piece of feedback was that the objectives are statements, in this specific circumstance objectives are statements of intent. We follow the public sector equality duty advice and guidance as set out by the Equality and Human Rights Commission.

Every three years Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service (DFRS) undertakes a Service Delivery and Risk Review (SDRR) to identify all of the current, new and emerging risks that exist within the County that we need to be aware of in order to plan our Service around.
We use a wide range of data including analysis of our incident data, people demographics (Office of National Statistics & Census Data), and prevention and protection activities alongside other external datasets including the Local Resilience Forum Risk Matrix to identify new and emerging trends. We then produce a Community Risk Management Plan, that we call 'Our Plan', which sets out how we will address these risks. The SDRR process started again this spring, ready for launching Our Plan 2023-2026 early next year.
Thank you to everyone that took part in the survey. We received 38 responses which have been considered and fed into our planning processes. A copy of the feedback is available here.
