On the 2 September 2020 we held our first ever virtual open day.

Unfortunately due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, all of our Fire Station Open Days had to be cancelled this year in line with current lockdown restrictions. Despite this we were determined to give you the chance to meet some of the people who work to keep you safe, where they work and the equipment they use.  Of course we can’t forget that everyone loves a dog, so we have also taken the opportunity to catch up with our very own fire investigation dog Dexter.

Throughout the day we released a series of videos that we hope everyone found interesting.

These are all still available, just click on the links in the schedule below to view each video.

11.30 - Dexter and Freckle Animation – The Fire Plan

vod2020_fire_plan_thumbnail.jpg

Our second virtual open day video is an animated story aimed at young children.

Produced originally as part of our schools education programme, we have created an animated cartoon version of Dexter and our previous fire investigation dog, Freckle, using them in a great little story to help younger children understand the dangers of fire and how to keep safe. A great video for parents to show to their children.
