Firefighters are continuing to tackle a wildfire in woodland off the A628 Woodhead Road near Glossop.
Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service was first called to the fire at 18:57 hours yesterday (Thursday 10 April).
Attending crews were from Glossop, New Mills, Chapel-en-le-Frith, Bradwell, Hathersage, Whaley Bridge, along with water carriers from Buxton and Clay Cross, and the Mountain Rescue drone unit.
Firefighting continued late into the evening until darkness, with four crews returning to the scene shortly after 06:30 hours this morning (Friday 11 April). The fire involves approximately 4,000 square metres of woodland and conifer.
The A628 was closed yesterday between the A57 at Hollingworth and the A616 at Flouch but has since reopened.
