Update on Injured Firefighter Following Road Traffic Collision in Hassop

At 16.43 hours on Tuesday 21 March 2023 a Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service fire engine was involved in a road traffic collision on Hassop Road, Hassop, Derbyshire while returning from an incident. No other vehicle was involved in the collision.  

One female firefighter had to be cut out of the fire engine due to the extent of her injuries and immediately taken by helicopter to hospital. Four other firefighters travelling in the same vehicle suffered minor injuries. 

As of Thursday 23 March, the female firefighter remains in hospital with serious injuries but is in a stable condition.
