Firefighters are continuing to deal with a fire at Springfield Mill, a four story converted mill on Bridge Street, Sandiacre.
Currently one crew from Ascot Drive Fire Station are using the aerial ladder platform to damp down hot spots that continue to burn in the roof space and between the third and fourth floor of the building.
Work is continuing this morning with our emergency service colleagues, from Emergency Planning and Derbyshire police as part of the multi-agency response to this incident.
Bridge Street remains closed while the incident is ongoing and members of the public are asked to avoid the area and also to adhere to current government advice in respect of Coivd-19, to stay at home except for essential journeys and not to visit the scene of the fire.
Local residents are reminded to keep their windows and doors closed due to the smoke.
A joint fire investigation will commence later today.
At the height of the fire 8 fire engines from across Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire were at the incident supported by 3 aerial ladder platforms, the command support unit, the major incident unit, and the welfare pod.
