Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service (DFRS) has today published ‘Our Year 202/21’, a document and supporting video celebrating the Service’s key achievements and data from the last financial year.
In what was a particularly challenging year due to the Covid19 pandemic, Our Year 2020/21 delivers key facts relating to the Service’s performance, financial position, incident information and response data, prevention and protection activity, LGBT+ and inclusion activity, how the Service has supported the Community Response to Covid19, in addition to collaborative success, Service awards and much more.
Derbyshire’s Chief Fire Officer and Chief Executive Gavin Tomlinson said: “2020/21 was an extremely difficult year for everyone as the Country came to terms with the impact of Covid19. Despite the challenges this presented, our responsibility remained to provide an emergency service to the communities of Derbyshire, and we did this whilst also supporting the local resilience forum and the Community Response to Covid. I am incredibly proud of how our employees united to continue Making Derbyshire Safer Together and proud to introduce them as they tell the story of 2020/21 themselves.
“Our Year 2020/21, produced as an easy read infographic document is for the first time supported by a video where Firefighters, 999 Control Operators and Professional Support colleagues who make up Team DFRS, come together to tell the story of the last year.
“We are your fire and rescue service, serving you, the communities of Derbyshire and I would encourage everyone to take a few minutes to learn about Our Year 2020/21 and the work we do. You never know, it could be what inspires the next generation of Team DFRS.”
