Firefighters have returned to the scene of a barn fire in Belper to re-inspect the site and carry out a fire investigation into the cause of the fire.
Just before 22:00 hours last night, Firefighters from across Derbyshire responded to a large barn fire on Cowers Lane, Belper. There was no livestock in the barn, but the barn did contain a number of gas cylinders which were potentially hazardous due to their close proximity to the fire - these took a number of hours to cool and make safe.
Due to the presence of gas cylinders, working with partners from Derbyshire police, a local road closure was put in place to protect the public and passers-by.
Fire crews from Belper, Duffield, Wirksworth, Kingsway, Nottingham Road and Ashbourne attended the fire.
The fire investigation into the cause of the fire continues.
