Firefighters are currently dealing with a barn fire on Church Broughton Road, Foston.
The barn, which contains wood, is causing a large amount of smoke and local residents are being asked to keep their windows and doors closed and motorists on the A50 between Hilton and Sudbury are asked to take extra care due to the smoke obscuring the carriageway.
Derbyshire fire crews from Kingsway and Nottingham Road are at the scene being supported by Tutbury, and Burton-on-Trent from Staffordshire. Burton-on-Trent have their aerial ladder platform at the scene.
The Service was called to attend the fire at 17.39 hours and Firefighters are expected to be at the scene for several hours.
Derbyshire police are also in attendance.
Local residents are reminded to avoid the area in line with current government advice.
