At 12.47 hours today, Monday 18 May 2020, Firefighters from Alfreton, Clay Cross and Nottinghamshire’s Ashfield were called to attend a house fire on High Street, Tibshelf.
On entering the detached property, firefighters rescued one male from the first floor and handed him into the care of paramedics at the scene.
Group Manager Dean Gazzard said: “We received a call to attend the fire from a neighbour who had seen smoke coming out of the front door.
“On arrival fire crews were met by a well-developed fire on the ground floor of the property. Wearing breathing apparatus Firefighters entered the building and rescued one male casualty from the first floor.
“The casualty was handed into the care of paramedics and taken to hospital to be treated for his injuries.”
A joint fire investigation into the cause of the fire is currently underway.
