Flat Fire on Hallam Court, Ilkeston - Fire Investigation Outcome

A joint police and fire investigation into the cause of a fire at a flat on Hallam Court, Ilkeston has concluded that the most likely cause was a naked flame coming into contact with combustible materials.

Firefighters from Ilkeston, Heanor and Nottinghamshire’s Stockhill were called to attend the ground floor flat fire at 17.43 hours on Saturday 29 June.

A female in her 50s and a male in his 20s had self-evacuated from the property before the arrival of fire crews. Both casualties were taken to hospital due to the extent of their injuries where they remain.

The thoughts of everyone at Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service continue to be with the two casualties and their family and friends.
