Fire - Twyford Street, Derby - Update

The fire service remains on scene at a commercial garage fire on Twyford Street, Derby.  Firefighters from Ascot Drive are currently checking for hot spots and damping down.

Twyford Street, Harriet Street, Grove Street and Normanton Road remain closed while emergency services deal with the on-going incident.

A rest centre at St. Augustine’s church remains open to residents who have not been allowed back to their homes.   Emergency services and partners would like to thank St. Augustine’s Church for offering this facility and their assistance.    

A joint police and fire investigation into the cause of the fire will commence this morning.
