A woman has tragically died following a serious house fire on Sunnyhill Avenue, Derby.
Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service was called to attend the semi-detached property at 10.52 hours on Sunday 19 November.
Firefighters from Ascot Drive, Nottingham Road and Kingsway attended the scene.
On entering the property, fire crews discovered a 60-year-old female who was sadly deceased.
The thoughts and sympathy of everyone at Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service are with the family and friends of the deceased at this distressing time.
A joint police and fire investigation is ongoing.
Crew from Ascot Drive will be in the area of Sunnyhill tomorrow afternoon (Tuesday 21 November) to speak with residents about fire safety and provide reassurance.
