Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service win Best Employee Wellbeing Strategy

During a year that’s been tough on wellbeing all round Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service is delighted to have won Best Employee Wellbeing Strategy at the 2020 Engage Awards.

The award looked for an organisation that had implemented a strategy to support and improve the wellbeing of employees mental, financial and physical health, and that made a positive contribution to the overall employee experience offering.

Strategic HR Partner, Helen Minion said: “It’s an honour to receive recognition for something that is so important to our Service as we strive to put our employees wellbeing at the forefront of everything we do.

“Over the last year, as we have faced exceptional challenges brought about by the pandemic, our Wellbeing Strategy really has come into its own, providing the ongoing support it was developed for.

“A huge amount of work goes into delivering a successful strategy, especially one that is recognised by peers from across the sector, so all of our HR and Occupational Health Team should be justly proud to receive such recognition.”

The 138 award finalists attended a virtual event hosted by Engage Awards on 3 December. There were 19 winners announced on the evening, across four categories; Employee Experience, Customer Experience, Innovation, Technology and Integration, and Workforce and Workplace Transformation.
