Firefighters are currently dealing with a moorland fire at Bamford Moor.
Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service was called to attend the fire at 16.10 hours where 5 fire engines and 2 water carriers remain on scene.
Firefighters are working with land owners and local farmers to contain and extinguish the fire which is affecting approximately 300 x 170 meters of grass and moorland.
Derbyshire police drone unit is also assisting at the incident.
Speaking from the moorland, Station Manager Paul Smith said: “Firefighting will continue until nightfall when we expect to withdraw crews at about 21:30 hours, returning early tomorrow morning.
“Unfortunately in addition to dealing with the incident, we have also had to deal with numerous people coming to see the fire. I would like to appeal to members of the public to stay away from the fire in line with current government advice.”
