The Authority's accounts are subject to external audit by Ernst Young LLP, 1 Colemore Square, Birmingham, B4 6HQ. Members of the public and local government electors have certain rights in the audit process:
From 31st July 2021 to 10th September 2021 (Monday to Friday) between 9.30am and 4.30pm any person may inspect the accounts of Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Authority for the year ended 31st March 2021 and certain related documents (comprising books, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers and receipts) at the address given below. They may also make copies of the accounts and documents.
A local government elector for the area of the Fire & Rescue Authority, or his/her representative, also has the right to ask the auditor questions about the accounts, object to the Authority's accounts asking that the auditor issue a report in the public interest and/or apply to the court for a declaration that an item in the accounts is contrary to law. These rights are exercised during the external audit period.
Due to the ongoing effect of the Covid pandemic a specific timetable for the external audit to commence has not yet been received. Details of the external audit and period for contacting the auditors will be published when known.
