Winter Ready Check (ICE Initiative)

Are you over 60 and would like a Winter Ready Check ?

Keeping warm over the winter months can help prevent colds, flu and serious health problems such as heart attacks, strokes, pneumonia and depression.   It is therefore important that you prepare yourself for the cold weather in advance so that you can stay warm and well over this period.

If you are concerned about your health and wellbeing over the winter months Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service is working in partnership with AGE UK to offer FREE Winter Checks to all over 60s or anyone with a physical or mental disability.

Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service is running an ICE initiative in partnership with AGE UK.

DFRS can provide a FREE Home Safety Check for all over 60s which will include advice and information regarding :-

  • Fire Safety
  • Energy Efficiency
  • Fall Prevention
  • Avoiding Isolation
  • Health 7 Wellbeing
  • Advice on Flu Vaccinations
  • Electric Blanket Amnesty
