REPORT OF CHIEF FIRE OFFICER/CHIEF EXECUTIVE
HIS MAJESTY'S INSPECTORATE OF CONSTABULARY AND FIRE & RESCUE SERVICES – INSPECTION REPORT
OPEN | INFORMATION | ITEM 10 |
1.1 To formally present Members with the overall findings of His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Service (HMICFRS) inspection.
2.1 That Members note the content of the report.
3.1 Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service welcomed its third HMICFRS inspection in May & June 2022. This inspection was similar to the first inspection, with focus on the services we provide to the public including prevention, protection and response; the efficiency of the Service and how well it provides value for money, allocates resources to match risk and collaborates with other emergency services; and how well the Service looks after its people.
There are three graded ‘pillars’ – namely ‘effectiveness, efficiency and people’.
HMICFRS have the aim of encouraging improvement.
3.2 The Chief Fire Officer/Chief Executive must now prepare a plan of action which will seek to continually improve, particularly in the areas which require improvement, but also in those areas inspected as good as shown below. Our action plan is already being developed and progress will be monitored by the Strategic Leadership Team and the Governance and Performance Working Group (GPWG).
3.3 Below is an overall summary of the findings. Members will note the sub-categories under each heading. A full text of the report is available by following this link: HMICFRS Report.
