Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service is committed to providing its communities with fire safety education and information. As part of this commitment, the Service has an inspiring fire safety education programme which targets all Year 2 and Year 6 school children from across Derby City and Derbyshire County. During these visits, children are educated about the importance of fire safety in the home and how to avoid accidental fires.

The key messages/topics the Service already delivers through its school’s education programme include:

  • The role of the Fire Service
  • Fire safety hazards in the home
  • The importance of smoke alarms
  • Planning a safe escape plan
  • Hoax calls and Arson

As the Service is committed to this education programme, unfortunately it is unable to offer any additional school educational visits at this time.

To book fire safety talks for Year 2 and Year 6 school children please contact the Prevention and Inclusion Administration Team on 01773 523863 or by email at: schoolbookings@derbys-fire.gov.uk
