  • 387 accidental dwelling fires. 
  • 6 fatalities in accidental dwelling fires.

Prevention Activity: Protecting you 

  • 2,271 Adults and Children at Risk Referrals 
  • 17 Safeguarding Adult and Children referrals. 
  • 1,512 EMAS referrals triaged. 
  • Over 15,300 Safe and Well checks, 16% increase.
  • 564 Safe and Well checks completed by partner agencies. 
  • Over 8,000 smoke alarms fitted 
  • 533 Schools Fire Safety Talks 
  • 34 Portable misting systems installed.

Protection 

  • 1,001 Fire safety audits were carried out of which 429 were unsatisfactory and made safer. 
  • 3,029 business consultations 19% increase 
  • 2,769 Protection advice given 17% increase 
  • 120 Non-domestic property fires. Our lowest ever.
  • 56% reduction in incidents between 2009/10 and 2022/23. 
  • 16.9% of our non-domestic properties were visited by our crew and prevention team this year exceeding our target.
