Have your say on our future priorities
06/07/12
Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service (DFRS) carries out a significant amount of activities to reduce the number of fires and other emergencies occurring. Despite this, Derbyshire's Firefighters still respond to approximately 10,000 emergency incidents a year.
DFRS has and still is subject to significant reductions in its budget due to the Government's Spending Review, providing many challenges. In 2012/13 the expected Service spend is £38.5m, an overall reduction of £3.6m from the previous year. Despite this, with the continued hard work of all employees, we will continue to make a difference.
Derbyshire's Chief Fire Officer/Chief Executive, Sean Frayne and the Chair of the Fire & Rescue Authority, David Wilson invite the communities of Derbyshire to submit their views and opinions with regard to the service priorities. When reviewing the Service's priorities this information is vital.
The 3 priorities that we suggest are:
- Preventing fire and other emergencies
- Protecting people, property and the environment
- Responding to Fire and Rescue emergencies
Additionally the Service is asking its communities, what kind of information they would like regarding DFRS, that is not already available.
