Fire Pride Park Derby

At 02:15 hours today, Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service was called to a fire at commercial premises on Derwent Parade, Pride Park, Derby.

Firefighters from Ascot Drive, Kingsway, Nottingham Road, Duffield, Ilkeston and Chesterfield attended the fire along with the Aerial Ladder Platform from Chesterfield to support firefighting operations.

Officer in Charge, Station Manager Michael Haslam said: “We were called in the early hours of the morning to a fire at a commercial unit on Pride Park, to be faced with a rapidly developing fire at the Oxygen Freejumping Centre.

“Crews worked quickly doing an outstanding job in difficult conditions, to contain the spread of fire and prevent adjoining premises being destroyed, however due to the layout of the building, unfortunately there is significant smoke damage to all business within the complex.”

The stop message was received at 09.36 hours.

Firefighters from Ascot Drive remain at the scene, where a cordon remains in place, working to ventilate the property.

A joint fire investigation with Derbyshire Constabulary is currently ongoing.
