Make an escape plan

Make an Escape Plan

If your fire alarm does sound, and you need to get out of the property it is always best if you have an escape plan ready and that the whole family knows where to go and what to do.

Follow the basic instructions below to help you effectively plan your escape:

  • Plan an escape route and make sure everyone knows how to escape.
  • Make sure exits are kept clear.
  • The best route is the normal way in and out of your home.
  • Think of a second route in case the first one is blocked.
  • Take a few minutes to practice your escape plan.
  • Review your escape plan if the layout of your home changes.

Keep door and window keys where everyone can find them.
