Home Fire Safety Checks Save Lives

The home is generally regarded as the place where we feel safest, but it is also the place where the overwhelming majority of fire deaths and injuries occur.

Many people are at risk from fire in the home, from families with young children to older people living alone. A fire can start very easily and spread with speed.

A Home Fire Safety Check will provide you with actions and advice to help make your home a safer place and protect you and your family, should the unthinkable happen.

Who can have a Home Fire Safety Check?

We target areas and households where we know there is a higher risk of fire, primarily the more vulnerable groups in the community. The first part of the Home Fire Safety Check process involves a telephone assessment by your local Area Office, so we can work out your level of risk. This is calculated by us and takes into consideration factors concerning your property and the people who live there.
