Our Workforce

Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service prides itself on its high standard of service to the people of Derbyshire. Every day we are helping to save lives and not just by fighting fires. Our Firefighters could be rescuing people from traffic collisions or floods or releasing people trapped in lifts. Or they could be doing more proactive work, talking to people explaining the risks of fire or installing smoke alarms.

A career within Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service does not necessarily mean joining us as a firefighter. There are many different career opportunities, behind the scenes many other staff help support the front line: administration teams, technicians, property staff, finance, communications, human resources, transport, procurement and many more. Each role is equally valued and helps make a real difference.
